The library was founded in 2010 by the Klipheuwel Farm owners, with the help of the Waitrose Foundation, when they converted an old Crèche on the farm in Sandhills into a library. This library is for the whole Sandhills community and with the help of an amazing librarian, Mary-Ann Olifant, this tiny library has more than 700 active members. Mary-Ann has been the Sandhills Library librarian for more than 10 years and said that it is heartwarming to see the young children that used to visit the library grow into young adults, some of them even studying to become teachers.
With this fundraiser our dream is to make the library a little bigger and add some nice features to the garden. This tiny library has the warmest heart with the most amazing view of the surrounding mountains. So bring your whole family and support our second hand book sale and fun run! Jumping castle and splash pools for the young ones, ice cold beer and milkshakes as well as burgers and chips for sale!!
