Our ππ¨π«π¨π₯π¬ πππ₯π ππ’π§π§ππππ¦ are fondly named πΆπππ π―πππππ and π«ππππ π·ππππππππππ. Both these great men were the grandfathers of the first barefoot farm girl who go married at AltydLig @ Klipheuwel Farm.
πΆπππ π―πππππ was an amazing carpenter and after retirement he and his wife Lenie, came to live on the farm. His love for carpentry, skill, and specific style can still be seen in some of the furniture and cupboards he created. He taught his son-in-law everything he knew and thanks to that, most of the wooden fixtures in the AltydLig venue, farm cottages and farmhouse was handmade right here on the farm.
π«ππππ π·ππππππππππ, was a man with a plan. Farmer by trade and all-round family man by nature. He was well known and loved by all in the valley and some of the (sometimes unorthodox) plans he often came up with, is still used by his two suns and six grandchildren. He was a strong believer in an afternoon nap, and we hope that our guests would be able to appreciate an afternoon nap in our cosy cottage.
π³ππππ ππ ππΜππππ, Ouma Lenie was a well-rounded woman, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her house was always warm, inviting and cosy. Her thirteen grandchildren will always remember her for having the best ice cream, even on cold rainy days.
