At Klipheuwel Farm and Venue we offer multiple accommodation options:
• Two Luxury Cottages that sleeps 2 persons each.
• A very spacious Farm House that can easily accommodate 16 people in two separate units.
• And we have a lovely campsite (a tented camp can be arranged at an additional fee).
Reviews
Cottages
Our luxury studio cottages are located on the foot of our farm's "(klip)heuwel"(hill) in an area that used to be stables. They are situated close to the AltydLIG venue, surrounded by majestic mountains, vineyards and an abundance of fresh air. We offer two private studio cottages, each with their own bathroom and kitchenette. Our cottages are perfect for relaxing for weekend getaways or a stop on route, as we are just more than 120km from Cape Town, 20km from Worcester, 50km form the Aquila Private Game Reserve and close to the N1.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm, enjoy a picnic under the trees or just admire the view. A braai area, garden and swimming pool are available to our guests. As the cottages are located on a working farm, guests will experience bright stars and quietness at night while they might encounter a tractor or two during the day. Please note the cell phone signal and internet reception may very in strength, making it easier to relax.
Our 𝗟𝗨𝗫𝗨𝗥𝗬 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗦 are fondly named 𝑶𝒖𝒑𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒔 and 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒋𝒊𝒆𝒔. Both these great men were the grandfathers of the first barefoot farm girl who go married at AltydLig @ Klipheuwel Farm.
𝑶𝒖𝒑𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒔 was an amazing carpenter and after retirement he and his wife Lenie, came to live on the farm. His love for carpentry, skill, and specific style can still be seen in some of the furniture and cupboards he created. He taught his son-in-law everything he knew and thanks to that, most of the wooden fixtures in the AltydLig venue, farm cottages and farmhouse was handmade right here on the farm.
𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒋𝒊𝒆𝒔, was a man with a plan. Farmer by trade and all-round family man by nature. He was well known and loved by all in the valley and some of the (sometimes unorthodox) plans he often came up with, is still used by his two suns and six grandchildren. He was a strong believer in an afternoon nap, and we hope that our guests would be able to appreciate an afternoon nap in our cosy cottage.
The Farm Cottage
The antique bed and shutters give this cottage an old-fashioned, long-forgotten romantic feel. When you close the shutters and beautiful wooden door, you feel that although the world may pass outside the door, inside you are safe and loved. The copper and aluminum trimmings enhance this wonderful atmosphere.
The walk-in shower adds to this very romantic feel. Ideal for the bridal couple's wedding night, This unit is equipped with an air-conditioner, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, basic cutlery and crockery. Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, milk and rusks are offered. Bedding and towels are also provided.
The Hill Cottage
This light, spacious room lifts the spirit of anybody that enters. With the view of the magnificent mountains, you can leisurely pas the hours with a book or two and a nice cup of hot coffee. Or why not share a local bottle of wine with a partner?
The Hill Cottages was carefully furnished to create a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. This unit is equipped with an air conditioner, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, basic cutlery and crockery. Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, milk and rusks are offered. Bedding and towels are provided.
The Farm House
The Farm House dates back to the 1950's and is decorated in a classic warm and welcoming farm style. The Farm House consists of two separate units, each with their own entrance, kitchen, sunroom and outside braai facilities. The garden and swimming pool is shared with the two units and cottages.
Unit 1 is the larger of the two units and can sleep up to 11 people. Unit 1 consists of four eloquently decorated double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and one bedroom with three single beds and a big bathroom down the hall.
Unit 2 is perfect as a family unit, with two double beds and a single, it can easily sleep 5 people, sharing a huge bathroom.
Campsite
Our Klipheuwel Farm Campsite can accommodate up to 15 double tents. For weddings and functions a tented camp can be arranged at an extra cost. The campsite is kept in an immaculate condition throughout the year for all visitors. There is also two newly added splash pools to cooldown in on those hot summer days.
